Please Note
Southside Pet & Home Care Plus provides high quality services to you and your pets.
We will not accept animals whose vaccinations are not up to date, are infected with fleas, or dirty.
We require that your yard or pet areas are not infested with droppings or dirty and unhealthy.
We expect that feeding dishes will be clean and kitty litter fresh when we start our pet sit. All cages and enclosures will also be clean.
This will enable us to continue our high level of service.

PET SITTING SERVICES
Our aim is to care for your pets in their home environment as closely to their regular routine as possible
and to provide you with a trustworthy, stress free service that ensures a happy homecoming.
We also offer the added security of checking your home daily, removing junk mail, cleaning the yard of
doggy do, watering plants, putting wheelie bins in or out and (optional) opening and closing blinds and
turning lights on and off.
Our business reputation depends on your satisfaction with our service.
Introduction Meeting
This meeting is free, with no obligation to you.
It is an opportunity for us to get to know you and your pets. We will explain our services, terms
and conditions, as well as complete a full profile on your pets, their routines and diets as well as
individual likes and dislikes. This will enable us to provide a service tailored to you and your pets
needs and help to keep their routines as normal as possible while you are away.
We do not agree to provide services until after this meeting.
All Pet Sitting services in your home include -
- Individual feeding of pets at pre-arranged times.
Fresh water supplied at each visit.
- Administration of any medicines etc. as required
- Brushing
- Playtime and cuddle time
- Disposing of doggy do in your yard and cleaning of litter trays.
- Collection of any mail including junk mail.
- Wheelie bins in or out
- Watering of up to five plants or as agreed to in contract
- Opening and closing of blinds (optional)
- Lights turned on or off (optional)

PET BABYSITTING
This is a special service that we offer to enable pet owners who have sick, elderly or nervous pets or those with special circumstances to have some time out.
Please talk to us regarding your individual requirements and we will negotiate a price with you accordingly.
SLEEPOVERS
Sometimes pet owners require more than daily visits. Nervous pets, pets that fret, dogs that bark when they are left alone often require more contact time. To accommodate this need we also provide some nightly sleepovers. Each sleepover is for a duration of 12 hours. As well as providing comfort and company for your pets it also adds extra security for your home.

HOME SECURITY ONLY
You don't have to have pets to use our services. We will visit while you are away at times you choose and security check your home. This service includes -
- Checking windows
- Watering up to 5 pot plants
- Collecting mail @ papers
- Wheelie bins in and out
- Lights on/off (optional)
- Blinds open/shut (optional)
- Checking nominated electrical appliances
We can also mow your lawns and water your gardens for an extra charge. Lawn mowing especially helps to make your home look "lived in" while you are away.

Why Dogs need to be walked.
In addition to the basic needs of food & shelter, a dog also needs social interaction, positive attention from their owner, exercise and mental stimulation. A simple 30 minute walk each day can fulfill these needs and keep your dog healthy & strong as well as improve their behaviour at home through practising behaviour & obedience skills.
Social Skills
Dogs are social animals and enjoy socializing with other dogs & humans. They are also pack animals and instinctually need to be with others - dogs & humans. A daily walking routine provides them with personal attention to satisfy this "pack need".
Mental Stimulation
Dogs love to investigate their territory and seek out new sights and smells. Walking provides the mental stimulation that comes from experiencing a wide range of odors and scents. Without this stimulation a dog's enjoyment of life is limited and the dog can become bored and unhappy which in turn leads to destructive and unacceptable behaviour. A daily walk is a good opportunity to reinforce training skills which build self confidence & reduces stress in a dog.
Exercise
It is sadly a common occurance these days that many dogs are overweight.
Regular exercise improves blood flow to the heart and oxygen to the lungs. It builds strong muscles, increases joint mobility, increases energy levels and helps to control weight.
Exercising your dog will not only enhance their quality of life greatly, but also decrease the risk of cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart attack and strokes. Their lifespan is extended as is also the time that you can enjoy them being part of your family.
Exercise improves a dog's mood and decreases the risk of depression. It is especially important to keep aging pets fit and agile as they may not be inclined to exercise without encouragement.
Preventing Behavioural Problems
Walking relieves boredom that can cause behavioural problems such as destructiveness, excessive barking and seperation anxiety. Walking enables your dog to channel their energy in a positive way.
Active dogs are typically happy and well adjusted.
Prevention is better than cure. A regular routine of walking and playtime is exactly what your dog needs to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, a longer life and as a bonus, cost you less in vet fees.
If you don't have time or can't physically walk your dog regularly please consider accepting our offer to help.
(When you do walk your dogs please don't forget to take along a bag to pick up after them.)

Maybe you are ill or incapacitated or just physically unable to walk your pet. For all of these and many other reasons it makes good sense to use a professional dog walker.
DOG WALKING RATES
If you agree we give your dog a daily short walk free with our pet sitting package. The prices below relate to seperate dog walking services not to walking included in pet sitting packages.
We prefere to walk dogs seperately but will however accept 2 dogs as long as they are not large dogs and do not pull excessively on the leads.
Regular walking packages are available at reduced rates. Talk to us today for a walking package tailored to your particular needs & circumstances.
Prices - Dog Walking Combined with Pet Sit
Sometimes if time allows we may give your dog your dog a short walk during the pet sit. However, this is not guaranteed and will only be of a short duration. If you book a walk as well as a Pet Sit prices are as follows -

You may request as many or as few walks for your dog as you wish.
We will only walk 2 dogs at a time. Please note that if your dogs are large, pull excessively, or are difficult to handle in any way, a surcharge may apply.

The Process
We like to meet you and your dog(s) before committing to commencing walking with your dog. This meeting includes a brief walk with your dog without you. (just a 5 minute test walk)
This Introductory meeting is free of charge. During this meeting we will explain the terms & conditions required for us to walk your pet. There are forms to be signed and walk dates and times to be discussed. |
